TWITTER WOMEN BRANDING

Twitter Women is here to encourage the women and allies at Twitter to create their own space, their own opportunities, their own future and #OwnIt. Take action into their own hands and be an advocate for themselves. If we create these spaces and these opportunities we make more room for women and those that support us. And as we all individually #OwnIt, we can empower each other to take action for ourselves.

In 2022, we plan to ensure every woman at Twitter feels like they belong at Twitter and within Twitter Women. We will create programming that focuses on strength, highlights our diverse members,  increases engagement, builds a sense of community and most importantly, showcases the amazing women we get to work side by side with at Twitter.

MISSION

Bring intersectional people back into Twitter Women. Engage more with people who don’t feel like they belong to integrate them and celebrate them within our community. Increase engagement and participation between all women at Twitter even if they are not “members” of our BRG.

Define how we operate intersectionality within Twitter Women (e.g. cross collaborations - what does this actually look like).

IDEA

Twitter Women would like to build brand equity, evergreen a new hero #hashtag, and have a complete toolkit. Our challenge is to make intersectionalities a priority within Twitter Women. Our plan is to encourage more diverse women to get involved and help us create an environment that is open and safe to women and allies of all different backgrounds.

CREATIVE

I created an interwoven form alluding to intersectionality, the spark spirals outward from the center, alluding and encouraging both individual and collective action for women, while the layered shapes convey a sense of diversity and unity.

With the selected “Woven Spark” #OwnIt emoji setting the tone for all toolkit elements, we leveraged it as a graphic element throughout. Carrying through the sentiment of the the emoji, the concepts of individual and collective action for women, intersectionality, diversity and unity continue to shine through all assets for the toolkit.
