TWITTER INDIGENOUS BRANDING

There are so many Indigenous groups and cultures all over the world. We’d like for our audience to be inspired to learn about Indigenous cultures and to keep issues that impact Indigenous peoples top of mind. For our Indigenous Tweeps, we’d like for them to feel seen and celebrated by their peers at Twitter.

Celebration: Much of the conversation surrounding Indigenous people globally is focused on the issues that affect these populations. Without diminishing the importance of addressing these issues, celebrate the beautiful, inspirational, and storied elements of the vast diversity of Indigenous cultures.

Intersectionality: Knowing that the population of self-identifying Indigenous people at Twitter is very small, how can we lean into intersectionality as a key theme for this internal celebration?

Equity: Ensure equal representation around individual Indigenous groups, as well as the key issues that need to be discussed in the community.

MISSION

Help us come up with unifying language and visuals that highlights Indigenous cultures around the globe while also giving space to each of them as individuals.

Raise awareness of the needs of Indigenous peoples all over the world through celebration of culture.

CREATIVE

Logo elements are scaled and arranged to create a celebratory repeating pattern, alluding to patterns common in many wide-ranging indigenous cultures.

All the patterns were made from elements inside the mark itself, and all convey the same abstract sense of celebration, intersectionality, and equity.
